Heroes Night Out Community Project at the Green Zone Resource Center
On October 6, 2011 The Home Depot and The Mission Continues competed a massive community service project at the Heroes Night Out's "Green Zone Resource Center" in Cedar Park, TX. The projects included:
Updating a 6K SQFT building.
Creating a walking trail with 7 stations.
Painting the exterior of two outdoor restroom facilities.
Building a pergola and creating barbeque and play areas.
Installing new kitchen cabinets and new appliances.
Large-scale landscaping, including: removing concrete slabs, laying down mulch, building benches, planting flowers, creating walking paths and installing professional edging.
Heroes Night Out is an organization committed to providing a process and venue that allows returning veterans the opportunity to reconnect, integrate and socialize with their family and communities. Their mission is to provide wounded heroes and their family with a day or night away from the daily routine while recovering from their injuries.
